Welcome to our current project!
Let the creating begin!!!
Everything always starts with a myriad of sketches and conversations.
And yes, we still do all of our concepts by hand sketching.
This is the approved sketch and the steel has been ordered.
More photos and progress info to follow!
Next Steps
We begin by ordering a large amount of steel of all varieties. Laying everything out so we can see what work lays ahead.
Working in the Cold.
Working in all kinds of different weather is always a fun time. Specially when it randomly decides to snow 3inches on a delivery day and then 4 inches the following Monday. Never cold when the forge is running though.
next steps are to get the support posts mostly done and painted. Then we start work on each individual picket, and begin the custom look aspects for each picket.
“I Love Making Rivet Holes!” Said no Blacksmith ever.
This is the longest part of any fencing job. Lining up all of the holes, making the indents, double checking your measurements, drilling holes, triple checking your measurements, and then drilling more holes, before drilling more holes.
Any blacksmith will tell you, spirals take forever. Specially when you have to make 240 of them
Helpful shop hands
Such helpful dogs, there zoomies are the craziest.
How the spirals start
Always helps to have a jig ready to use. All 240 spirals were made this way, a long process, but all worth it in the end.
TAH DAH!!!!
Making progress on the main posts. Putting all of those good spirals to use.
